Your checklist for the festive season
Posted on 1st November 2013 by Fleur Murphy
You’ve hung the tinsel, your favorite holiday tunes are playing, and the festive spirit is in the air… but are you completely prepared for the holidays? Marketing during the festive rush can be a juggling act, and without a watertight plan it can be easy to forget something important. To help you get organized we’ve prepared a handy holiday checklist for you.
Pre-order your gift cards
Gift cards are the perfect fuss-free present, and now is the time to stock up! Not only will they boost your revenue, they are a great way to let clients promote your business on your behalf. You’ll reap the rewards in the New Year when a whole host of new clients experience your products and services for the first time.
Run some fun festive promotions
Nothing says it’s party time like a bit of sparkle and bling, so why not promote some festive-inspired specials? We’re thinking glittery nails, berry-red lipsticks, and party season up-dos. Even small promotions can have a huge effect on sales.
Set up your email and SMS marketing
Let your clients know all about your specials with email and SMS marketing. Creating your own email campaigns is easier than ever with the new Drag ‘n’ Drop™ feature in Shortcuts Set & Forget Marketing™. You can quickly and easily design beautiful emails to help spread the word about your festive promotions.
Update your visual merchandising
What better time for a salon makeover than the lead-up to the New Year? Give your salon a temporary face lift with new visual merchandising, showing off your festive season specials and reminding your clients of the great deals you’ve been promoting via email and SMS.
Let everyone know you’re open
When you’re run off your feet, it can be easy to forget to update your website, social media pages, and voicemail with your opening hours for the holiday period. Make sure your clients know when you’re open for business, and when you’re taking a break, so that they can make a booking accordingly.
Reward your loyal clients
Your most loyal clients have been visiting you consistently all year, helping to make your business a success, so why not do something special for them in return? A VIP night with goodie bags, bubbles, and maybe a free sample or two is sure to get everyone in the festive spirit!
Set some goals for the year ahead
We love a good New Year’s resolution, and now is the time to start setting some goals for 2014. Review your reporting and evaluate the past year's performance to gain some insights into what worked and what didn’t. Don’t forget to dream big – with the right strategy, you can achieve anything in the coming year!
