Shrinkage
We’re talking about your inventory!

Shrinkage is the business owner’s worst nightmare as it can eat away all the hard work and effort that goes into earning a decent profit. The fastest way to be in the red is to not pay attention when your products are ‘growing legs’.

Technically speaking, inventory shrinkage is the difference between the booked inventory, or the inventory that was purchased, and the actual inventory it has on hand. Ideally, these two should be the same, but when the actual inventory is less than what your books say you should have, you have unplanned and unwanted loss of inventory called shrinkage.

Shrinkage is caused by several different factors, but the good news is that many of them are preventable.

How can I view a client’s future appointments?

This is a really handy trick for the front desk, and while it’s been in Shortcuts for a very long time, most clients still inquire about this functionality. So, this month the Helpdesk nominated this as the ‘top tip’.

To find the clients future appointments, follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to the Client Screen
  2. Search for the client in question
  3. Touch and hold or right-click on the client in the list
  4. Select ‘Schedule’ from the drop-down list.

This will bring up all future appointments for the client along with instant access to the client card or history.
