Technophobia Rehab

Do you ever break into a cold sweat when thinking about what a MB is? What about when deciding on the level of RAM for a new computer? Or maybe you avoid thinking about it altogether! According to the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), technophobia affects roughly 85 to 90 percent of employees may be uncomfortable with new technology, and are technophobic to some degree.

So, as you can see, you are not alone. Many people are shocked to hear that I, too, am technophobic and at times a very slow learner when it comes to technology. So, for all the technophobes out there, I decided to put together some hints and tips on maintaining your business hardware so you can make sure it lasts as long as possible and is running optimally. And believe me when I say, I learned a lot during this research expedition!  When I create a new employee how can I assign a pin number and level of security?

Pretty easy, and very important for maintaining control over the system. 

  1. Go to Employees
  2. Select your employee alias from the drop down list
  3. Select Pin. Enter the new pin number. Re-enter pin to confirm
  4. Go to Setup / Configuration / Security
  5. The new employee will be under unassigned
  6. Click on the drag bar to select the employee. Drag the employee to the relevant security level.
  7. Select done. Employee will now have a pin number and the access level assigned.
