How do you raise your prices?

A better question is: "Do I need to raise my prices?"

The better question than this is: “Do you need to raise your prices?”
Pricing is not an exact science, but there are certain rules you can play by that guide you through the labyrinth. First thing to know is how prices are set or insinuated in general and secondly understanding your own pricing model and how they affect your sales and your clients. This will form a lot of the basis for knowing where your prices are in comparison to where they can go. Finally you must look at the steps you should take in order to effectively increase prices and safe guard your client retention.

Shortcuts Announces Winner of Fall Trends Facebook Contest

Huntington Beach, CA —March 1st, 2010 — Shortcuts announced Follicle Salon’s owner Francesca Rivetti, as winner of the Shortcuts Fall Trends Facebook contest.

Shortcuts posted the competition to their Facebook page last fall, asking fans to post their best photo trends of the fall season to the page. Rodney Cutler, owner of Cutler Salons judged the competition by selecting his favorite photo from the contest. Ms. Rivetti won a gift card and gives her photo credit to Pier Nicola D’amico.

“When assessing hair in a photograph it’s important to look at how the hair relates to the overall image. Good beauty in fashion photography is when you look at the images and say, “great image” not just “great hair.” In this instance, the color and the texture really work with the lighting and the mood of the photo,” said Rodney Cutler, owner of Cutler Salons.

“We are glad to have such a great fan base on our Facebook page and our fans like to participate with these types of competitions,” said Paul Tate, CEO of Shortcuts North America. “Congratulations to Francesca Rivetti and a big thank you to Rodney Cutler for judging the competition.”

Follicle Studio’s owner Francesca Rivetti, submitted four of her trendy fall photos to the competition.

“It's an honor to be recognized, especially when the judge is in the top echelon of our industry,” said Francesca Rivetti, owner of Follicle Salon and winner of the Shortcuts Fall Trends Facebook Contest.

Tricks of the Trade
Q.
How do I do a manual back-up?
A.
Matthew Willson
Helpdesk Technician
  1. Log into Shortcuts and click the Tools button.
  2. Next click the Backup icon. The Shortcuts Backup window will appear. If this is your first time backing up data, click the Advanced button to open the Advanced Options window. If not, read on.
  3. If you want to define a custom description for your backup file, click the Description field and type in the desired message.
  4. Select the appropriate backup location by clicking on the Browse button. If you want to backup to an external media device (e.g. USB key), select D:\ (where ‘D’ is the letter assigned to your USB key).
  5. Press the Done button to return to the Shortcuts Backup window.
  6. If you want to specify a name for the backup, click the Name field and type in what you would like your backup file to be called. We do not recommend changing the name of the backup, but if you do, we strongly recommend that you include the date (and possibly time) of your backup as part of the name (e.g. Salon Backup - 9th May 2005).
  7. Click the Backup Now button to proceed with the backup. You can observe the backup’s progress in the progress bar. Please be patient as the backup process may take a while.
  8. Once the backup has finished, you will see ‘Backup Complete’ below the progress bar. Click the Done button to close the Backup window. Remove your storage device and place it in a secure location. Your backup is now complete.
