Hair and beauty professionals are used to talking to clients. It’s viewed as an integral part of the service in a lot of cases and many of them are very good at it. A recent survey reported in the UK’s Hairdressers Journal revealed that more than 40% of people voted their hairdresser as the best small-talkers ahead of taxi drivers, bar staff and politicians!
However, for communication with clients to be effective and benefit the business it has to be more than just chatting. It also has to take other ‘non-verbal’ forms, given that you can’t talk to all of your clients whenever you want to.
