Question:
If there is a system with two computers networked which computer should you be backing up from? Can you backup from the client computer onto a drive on the server?

Answer:
Shortcuts recommends that you backup from the Server computer, as this is where all the information is stored. Also backing up from the server computer means your backup would be faster and more reliable.

The Shortcuts program gives you the option to backup onto any of the removable drives (floppy drive, Zip Drive or Super disc Drive) it detects when the computer is turned on. These drives are then list in the “Backup Location” drop down list, eg A:\ or D:\ (D:\ may represent the zip drive). The backup application only allows you to backup onto the removable drives it detects on that particular computer, which means you cannot backup from the client computer to a drive on the server computer.
