Problem: Experiencing problems pinging one direction and not the other, on Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro. For example 2 computers on the network, they can see each other but the client computer cannot “Contact the License Server”.
Solution: Ensure all computers on the network have the same Windows login and password. Make sure that the internet security tick box on the XP computer is off. To do this do the following:
Option 1: Hit the Windows Start button (or hold down Ctrl and then Press Esc) Select Settings Select Network Connections Right mouse click on Local Area Connections Left mouse click on Properties Select Advanced Ensure Internet Connection Firewall is unticked Hit OK to exit the screen
Option 2: Hit the Windows Start button (or hold down Ctrl and then Press Esc) Select Settings Select Control Panel Double click on Network Connections Right mouse click on Local Area Connections Left mouse click on Properties Select Advanced Ensure Internet Connection Firewall is unticked Hit OK to exit the screen
