Problem: When attempting to print out a receipt the following message appears on the screen:
“Com Port Error” or “Error in SetCommState”.
Solution: Ensure you haven’t got a Windows driver installed, for example a Generic Text/only driver. Loading Windows printer drivers stops the receipt printer from working with Shortcuts. Printer drivers installed will be listed in the Printers folder.
To get to the Printers folder do the following:
Exit Shortcuts Hit the Windows Start button (or hold down Ctrl and then press Esc) Select Settings Select Printers & Faxes
