The card swipe verification feature allows employees to log on and off with a magnetic swipe card using the security feature in Shortcuts. The card number is stored in the barcode field in the client card Main Menu – Clients icon – Select a client – Select the Card icon - Barcode field.
Question: As the Barcodes are different from Card Numbers, do you allow the manufacturer of the cards to assign the numbers or do you tell them the numbers you would like for each card? Does it mean the cards must be manufactured 1st before setting up the 'Cfg Verify' in the Employee Screen or 'Barcode' at the Client Info Screen?
Answer: It doesn't matter what the card numbers are… as long as they are printed on Track #2 of the card. They won't conflict with the barcode numbers at all (when you swipe a card to assign a card to a client, you will see a "@" symbol appear in the barcode field - don't delete this symbol… it's a prefix that allows shortcuts to distinguish a number from a barcode and a swipe card. |
